Quality Archery Gear
No need to get to crazy here you need a setup that can deliver an arrow 25 yards. The easiest way to get into archery if you are brand new is to find someone farther in their journey in archery to learn from. These people can come from a lot of places such as the local archery shop, a friend who bowhunts, and/or the internet.Â
Here are a few recommendations from me:
I don't think mechanical broadheads are worth the money. they add a failure point without adding enough killing power or accuracy to justify it. I love my 2 blade 125 grain steel broadheads. Since they are so affordable I practice with them, and have sighted my bow into broadheads, not practice tips.
Be honest about how much you can pull back. You have my permission to go less than 70 pounds. This offseason I am going to switch to a 50 pound bow for reasons that I will explain in a later in a full post.
Your bow setup is important, but spend your money on warm clothes first, then optimize your archery setup.
Practice during deer season too!
